A Love Story of Strangers

We are living in times of heightened anger, fear, and frustration. And those big emotions take a toll on us as big hearted humans trying to navigate each day. Sometimes there is the perfect reminder at the just right time. In case you needed one here is yours;

Remember that every stranger is potentially a friend, ally, and at the very least a fellow human sharing this world with you. Here is my story for you…

Once upon a time Evie thought it would be fun to create a tank top for our business. The way our brains work we often have the same thought at the same time. I didn’t think of the shirt but we both thought of asking her sister Lorien to sketch the artwork for us! We love supporting local women in business (see link to some women we love here!) and local artists whenever we can! I knew I wanted the design to represent body positivity, and a little bit of magic too. The artwork Lorien created is simply gorgeous and just what I was hoping for.

Once the tanks arrived we decided to ask a few friends to come to the studio and model the new merch for us. What we didn’t tell any of them is that we were going to ask them to snuggle together and look like close friends during the photoshoot (;

Now to be clear there are a couple sets of friends here anyway. My dear friend Kate and I got to do some shots together and I realized how special it was to capture photos of us laughing together. And Lorien and Bri are besties too. Then there was my daughter's close friend that I had asked to come as well.

What happened in that two hours was wonderful proof that bringing people together is magical and tons of fun!  We wrapped our arms around each other like old friends. And of course, by the end of the session we all WERE friends.

We hope these portraits bring you some joy just like they did for us.
