To all the Mothers | You are still Her.

“This is why the wisdom of the feminine is so important… Feminine consciousness is more attuned to the life of the body, and so knows the rhythms that belong to the cycles of life, rather than the systems imposed by will that are presently strangling our world. The feminine is vital in this work of awakening.”

A note from Jen:

Mother's Day is just around the corner. The current politics have me thinking about Motherhood a lot this year. How hard being a woman and a Mother truly is right now. Balancing all the ups and downs of the macro and micro is intense. As a Mama myself I know the demands and worries that are carried constantly alongside the joys and love we hold tight to.

I am extending a special offer to ALL Mothers. The wished they had been, the almost, the used to be, the step mamas and every variation you can think of. This can be a hard holiday for so many of us.

Read to the end to view a personal essay about the way I was adopted into a family, and gained a Mother thanks to a waitressing gig and my cheekbones (;

To the Mom who forgot She’s still her.

Motherhood changed your body.

It did not take your sensuality

You are allowed to feel beautiful.

→ Even if you pack lunches

→ Even if you haven’t slept

→ Even if your body is different.

You are still Her.

Your Body is Powerful.

Life Giving.

The Keeper of your Stories.

You deserve to be seen and celebrated.

Celebrate Mother’s Day a little differently this year. With a Portrait or Boudoir Session

From the Journal

Here is a my story about the woman who took me in and became my Mother after I was her waitress one night in the 1990's. Truly a beautiful and amazing story that turned my life upside down in the best possible way.

May You Be Loved

How a chance meeting with a stranger changed my entire life.

An essay by Jen Dean

I pull out a chair from under the table. The seat was a bold, but now faded embroidered pattern sealed into the wooden chair. It occurs to me I have pulled this chair away from this table hundreds of times before. Today the sound is hollow and reverberates into the adjacent rooms. There are patterns of window light on the wood floors of each room, and I notice them in contrast to the rugs that used to fill the path to the stairs. Empty rooms for echos to bounce around.

This house is for sale now and I am in charge of meeting the contractors to get bids on the changes we could make to help it sell. It’s an old home and in need of a facelift to be appealing to a new buyer. Funny how the obvious reality of what others might see can also be opposite of what you actually feel. For when I enter this house now, despite the slightly dilapidated appearance, my chest aches with the energy of beautiful memories that hit me as I walk in the front door…
