Summer Solstice
Celebrating the light
As women we are part of a long lineage of light workers, healers and wisdom of the earth wielders. Many of us have realized that reconnecting to ourselves and grounding in nature is ever more important in these times of turmoil.
In honor of the seasons and cycles of nature in the wheel of the year, we created a unique session to celebrate the Summer Solstice.
The summer solstice marks the official start of astronomical summer and the longest day of the year.
It occurs when one of Earth's poles is tilted toward the sun at its most extreme angle, and due to Earth's tilt, this happens twice a year. In the Northern Hemisphere, the summer solstice falls in June.
To celebrate, we invited 5 women to join in sisterhood and wander into the woods and water with us.
Our small group met in my backyard for a cup of tea, conversation, candle lighting, and reading tarot cards. They each received a small gift to honor the season as well.
Everyone then dressed up in their choice of white lace or silk to go wander into the wild for some portraits…
Check out some of the magical portraits we captured of these stunning women:
